The Road in Front of East West University

 

Dhaka is a large city where a huge amount of people live. There are so many people living in Dhaka that moving one place to another place inside Dhaka is a disgusting thing. That is why the government constructed a lot of roads inside Dhaka to improve travelling. There are so many roads inside Dhaka that it is ridiculous to remember one road which is not very popular. However, the road in front of East West University is one of the most popular roads inside Dhaka. It is mostly popular among the students of the East West University. The road in front of East West University is a two lane based lengthy road where people have some shops and restaurants beside the footpaths of the road and many bullet-wood trees at the middle of the two lanes.

The road in front of East West University is a very lengthy road which has two lanes but there is no traffic control. Most of the vehicles which go through the road are private cars and trucks. As there is no public transport going through the road, the authority did not take any decision about the traffic control system. However, they have placed two speed breakers and zebra crossing  in both of the lanes near the university.

There are some shops and restaurants beside the road’s footpath. As the road went along with an educational institution, there were some book shops where many students bought their academic books, pens, pencils etc. There are also some photocopy studios close to the footpaths of the road. Many students gather there to photocopy their papers or print any necessary slip. The photocopy studios also offer pens, pencils, notebooks and other study materials among the students. There are some restaurants close to the road. The restaurants mostly sell fast food, many drinks and canned food to their customers. Most of their customers are the local people and university students.

There are many bullet-wood trees in the middle of the two lanes  where many small temporary stores sit under the shadow of the trees and they sell cigarettes or cheap snacks to their customers. All of the stores can move easily to another place as they are so small or the shop is in a van. Some of them sell cigarettes and some of them sell cheap snacks. Many students gather there to buy some cheap snacks and many pedestrians and university students who smoke gather there to buy cigarettes. However, there are also many students who gather under the shadow of the trees and gossip with their friends.

At last, the road in front of East West University has no traffic control. Many small temporary stores sit at the middle of the two lanes. As a result many students gather there though it is dangerous. Many students smoke cigarettes in the middle of the street or footpaths and create air pollution. The authority should take some necessary steps to make this road more safe and sound.
